The fifth Leicestershire First Awards presentation took place on Tuesday, July 10 at a new venue in Leicester city centre.

 

BBC Radio Leicester was the location for the awards night where a host of well-known local faces will watched the three winners receive their £3,000 prizes for outstanding contributions to the communities of Leicestershire and Rutland. 

 

Maurice and Vivien Thompson, along with Freda Hussein and Rick Moore,  presented the awards, which celebrate leadership, excellence, citizenship, and promote a culture of giving throughout Leicestershire and Rutland.
 
This year's ceremony saw  awards being presented to the winners of the three categories - Community Sport Award, Employment and Skills Award and Judges Special Prize.
